What’s new in 2010.1
Streamlined API URL Structure & Versioning
With Release 2010.1, we have refactored the URL structure and introduced a new API version scheme. The reason behind the change is to allow for better capacity management, improved performance and a logical separation from our hosted websites. Only a select number of calls are available in the new format. We will continue this refactoring process with each major release this year until all calls from earlier versions follow the new structure.
Each major release will now receive a change to the version number in the URL. We plan on releasing new versions our API quarterly. If there are features you would like to see in our API, we want to hear from you. Send us a new feature request to apisupport at shoplocal dot com.
ReMarketing
We have added additional parameters to our Get All Listings call to allow a retailer using Paperboy to find their in market shoppers anywhere on the internet at a later point, and then to delivery targeted and relevant offers and promotions to these shoppers inside of a rich media ad unit. The content that is delivered within the PaperBoy ad units to the shoppers is directly tied to the user’s previously expressed interests from the past SmartCircular site visit(s) over the last 90 days.
Get Listings by Tag
Tag collections are a new way to get individual listings across all brands and categories for a single retailer. Currently, this feature is only available for individual listings that have been created and assigned to retailers. This will allow you to create custom groupings of individual listings across brands and categories.
Other Enhancements
- Enhanced getStore & getStores to limit results to a specific store with content by language.
- We’ve added an additional 1800 unit tests and refactored a ton of code. What does that mean for you? Not much, but it helps us sleep better at night.
- New API Support portal – When you submit support through apisupport at shoplocal dot com, you will automatically receive a user name and password to our support portal. Our new support systems will allow for better traceability of your support requests and allow you to make requests for new features.
