Circular Central Get An Upgrade – v2 Is Live

ShopLocal is a big believer in the Agile development methodology.  All this means is that when the team sets out to build something, the goal is to deliver a series of incremental releases (or iterations) constantly and not wait for everything to all be completed at once single point in time.  Day one may only recognize 50% of the total vision and it may take a few months of constantly iterating to final get to 100% of the complete feature set.

Well Circular Central is a great example of this type of project management style being effectively applied.  We first launched an instance of Circular Central for the Yahoo! Deals area about 2 weeks ago.  Since then, the team has been able to already iterate and release the next new-and-improved version of Circular Central for the Gannett owned newspaper site IndyStar.com.  Although this second version of Circular Central is closer to the final goal, a rough estimate might place this only at 65% or so of the way there.  The team has a long list of enhancements and features that will be worked on in the coming months, but this is great proof that many small and constant steps beats out huge and infrequent long jumps.
